Argentina Squashes Gold Hopes for U.S.
The US men lost today in basketball to Argentina 89-80 in an embaressing loss. The US dominance over the last couple decades has just ended with a sloppy loss. You can blame a lot of things for the US men losing and getting a bronze at the best. I would blame the loss for lack of wanting it. They are profesional athletes getting paid millions of dollars a year. They come in the summer during their only break and don't take the games seriously enough.
Finally they were showed what team basketball is all about and why the Detroit Pistons are the best team in the NBA. They play team basketball and so the US is going to have to settle for a humiliating olympics, where a gold is expected nowdays. I don't think country's are catching up to the caliber of the US players, only they're desire is exceding ours.
